Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Image: DLAB Study Guide Do you have the DLAB Study Guide in electronic format?
There are no plans on making the DLAB Study Guide available in any electronic format in the near future.
Image: Product Placement Do you receive sponsorship for the product reviews that you write?
Bottom line up front: No. One company with several product reviews will have positive and negative product reviews. Delta Gear is committed to only providing the best equipment because we know your life depends on it.
Image: Security

Why do I get a security alert when I add an item to my shopping cart?
The site's security certificate is not automatically in Internet Explorer's list of certificates. You must view the certificate and install the certificate to eliminate receiving future security alerts.

The name of the certificate doesn't match the name of the site, because the name on the certificate is the company that hosts the site, ICD Soft. The warning is due to the fact that the host uses a shared SSL certificate - it is issued to the whole server and it is self-signed. Note that this does not make the certificate less secure than any other - it uses 128bit encryption.

Notice the shopping cart's URL says "https" which stands for HyperText Transport Protocol Secure, meaning the site is secured. There should also be a padlock in the bottom right corner of your screen if you're using Internet Explorer, which means the site is SSL Secured to 128bit encryption.

Image: Battery Charger Why do you only carry products that use AA batteries?
For proven practicality in the field, we strongly support “battery size standardization” and have chosen AA as the most universal size. By compiling gear powered exclusively by AA batteries, a soldier can triage his/her gear and replace any/all batteries more quickly and efficiently. All battery-powered gear on our site follows this standardization doctrine. Click
here for more information on AA batteries.
Image: Meter Versus Yard Why don't you show any measurements in English units?
The System International (SI) Metric system is superior. It is easier to convert among different metric units of measurement (i.e. centimeters to kilometers). The Metric system is much easier to use and understand. It is also the system that is used around the world. Since 1916 the United States Metric Association (
USMA) has been trying to encourage the Metrication of the United States. Delta Gear's exclusive use of the Metric system is our way of helping this transformation along. If you have difficulty understanding Metric units, please visit MegaConverter to convert to your preferred system.
